Meet Matt: A Familiar Face Joining the Rugga Coffee Team
Hi, I’m Matt and I joined the Rugga Coffee team in November 2025.
The past year has been a challenging one for me personally. Navigating my own mental health journey gave me space to reflect on what really matters: family, meaningful work, supportive communities, and businesses that genuinely care about people. That reflection is what ultimately led me here.

My career has been spent in the leisure industry, starting from the ground up and working my way through to General Manager and other senior strategic roles. Along the way, I’ve focused heavily on operations, customer experience, and finding smarter, more efficient ways to improve how our facilities ran. It’s work that’s taught me the value of strong relationships, thoughtful processes, and putting people first whether that’s teams or customers.
Rugga Coffee has been part of my life long before I joined the team. I’ve been a customer since Steve first founded the brand, drawn in not just by the quality of the coffee, but by the conversations it sparks and the values behind it. Rugga’s commitment to mental health awareness, ethical sourcing, and building genuine connections has always resonated with me on a personal level.
Now, I’m excited to bring my experience into Rugga, helping to grow meaningful commercial relationships, streamline our services, and ensure every customer interaction reflects what the brand stands for. Most importantly, I’m proud to be part of a business that believes great coffee can do more than taste good. It can support wellbeing, start conversations, and bring people together.
I’m really looking forward to what’s ahead.
